Adult Classes Fall 2024

Spend 20-30 minutes linking movements to your breath as you prepare the body for a 30-40 minute Yoga Nidrā practice; sleep with a slight trace of awareness. As you lie on your back, you'll be guided through this systematic relaxation technique where you hover between waking and sleeping. The practice explores the five dimensions of the human system moving from the gross to the subtle: body, breath/prana, feelings/emotions, thoughts/beliefs and joy/bliss. Yoga Nidrā can reduce tension and anxiety, promote more restful sleep, increase awareness and leave you with a sense of wholeness. Please bring a blanket to keep your body warm and if you need support for your head, a thin pillow or a second blanket.

Carrie Kehnle

Carrie started practicing yoga in 2003 and experienced the beginning of an awakening that led her to greater joy, equanimity, introspection, relaxation and stability. By 2018, she completed 530 hours of yoga teacher training. Carrie truly believes that every person can benefit from a yoga practice. A simple, yet thoughtful, practice can create profound changes. She structures classes in this way; linking movements to the breath so that the practitioner has an opportunity to gradually move focus inward and discover an unwavering, peaceful center. Carrie especially enjoys guiding people through Yoga Nidra ("yogic sleep", a systematic relaxation), due to the myriad of benefits it offers. Bearing witness to and experiencing the transformative effects of yoga motivates Carrie to continue studying and sharing this practice.
