  • Before and After the Funeral

    After a loved one dies, family members are bombarded with questions related to decisions that must be made before the funeral. Working through those questions ahead of time will ease the burden. A second flurry of activity occurs after the funeral to settle the deceased's estate. Learn when probate is and isn't necessary, and the steps that the deceased's loved ones can expect in settling the deceased's affairs. Class is co-taught by Bonnie Wittenburg, a local lawyer, and Jeanne McGill, an independent funeral consultant.   • Beginner Stained Glass Window

    Come ready to create a beautiful stained glass window approximately 8” x 10” in size. This class is for both beginner and experienced stained glass participants! The copper foil technique will be taught, from cutting to assembly. The first night focuses on choosing a pattern and discussing colors of glass, equipment and layout. There are numerous beginner patterns to choose from like the calla lily or sailboat. Glass is purchased directly from the instructor at class (approx. $25-$50). Tool kits are provided.     April class. This introductory course is for those who are preparing to begin their journey of becoming a seller on the Amazon marketplace and are seeking a broad overview. You will learn how to separate hype from reality regarding what it takes to succeed on Amazon. An introduction to the key concepts and terms in the Amazon marketplace and an overview of Amazon Seller Central, the place where you will manage your store will be presented. You will gain an understanding of the product life cycle and all the stages of launching your first Amazon product including: product research, keyword analysis, product sourcing, brand registry, listing creation and launch strategy.   • Czech Kolaches

    Kolaches are one of Czechoslovakia's national pastries. Immigrants brought their passion (and recipes) for Kolaches to the Midwest as early as the 1860's. Kolaches are marvelous egg-rich, slightly sweet yeast dough. Traditionally filled with fruit mixtures such as apricot, cottage cheese, poppy seed or prune. They can be shaped into small rounds, square "tied packages," or filled turnovers. We will make variations in class. Plan to take home an assortment to share with family, friends or to freeze. You will also leave with many recipes, tips and techniques to master these Old World delicacies. Better than a bakery! $13 supply fee payable to the instructor at class.   • Drum Fitness

    A mix of strength training exercises, cardio, barre, Pilates, yoga, and the powerful brain-boosting, stress-relieving effects of drumming. Bring a mat and either a set of drumsticks, something resembling drumsticks (like long-handled spoons), or skip the drumsticks and be an air drummer for this class. You may also want to bring a towel or some other kind of cushion for your knees or forearms during mat work. This class will take place outdoors at Wayzata Central Middle School on the basketball court. Please dress comfortably and for the weather, wear a mask at all times, and practice physical distancing measures.     Wow your guests with your first dance. Get your feet moving to the Waltz, East Coast Swing, Rumba, and Hustle. Bring the whole family so you will all be comfortable on the dance floor. Father-daughter, mother-son, or the couple getting married, all first dances are a special moment in time. Jay specializes in choreographing wedding dances. Reviewing dance steps taught each week is what makes the students successful on the dance floor. Jay Dudding is one of the best dance instructors in the metro area!     Glass mosaic sounds like a fancy, difficult art form however in this class, you will learn how it can be fun, and easy! Look through the idea book, browse the patterns and stencils, and choose from dozens of colors of precut glass. With the help from the instructor, you will create a colorful garden stepping stone. 8” round and square molds are available.   • Mosaic Card Holder

    A new and fun idea for a terracotta pot with beautiful stained glass mosaic pieces! This piece can be used as a photo holder, recipe card holder, or many other creative options. Of course, it can be a colorful planter in a larger size too. We will design, cut glass, glue and grout. All tools and materials are provided. Bring color and flair to your room or garden. A $14 supply fee payable to the instructor at class. Youth ages 10-17 may register when accompanied by a registered adult. This class is offered in partnership with Orono Community Education.   • Northern Lights Canvas Painting

    Do you enjoy viewing the Northern Lights? Join us for this creative adventure in nature! Choose from a variety of photos (or bring your own Northern Lights photo to class). You will enjoy learning how to blend colors, using a variety of paintbrushes and techniques, to create a vibrant background. Splatter paint stars in the evening sky and watch your composition come to life! All supplies included in registration fee. Youth ages 12-17 can register and attend with a registered adult.   • Perfect Pasta

    Bring a ray of Italian sunshine into your kitchen by creating homemade pasta using a few basic ingredients. Mix by hand or try a food processor. We will use pasta machines to roll and cut or go "low tech" and try rolling/cutting by hand. Compare basic pasta with several recipe variations including spinach pasta. Savor your fresh pasta with classic meat sauce, classic tomato sauce, gorgonzola sauce, and a quick Alfredo sauce. Freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese is a must to taste as well as topping your pasta with almond pesto, classic basil-garlic pesto, and a walnut-basil pesto. Pasta is nutritious, economical and simple to prepare. With an extensive handout on tips and techniques, you can make perfect pasta every time - join us! $12 supply fee payable to instructor at class. Bring containers to bring home your creations.     Imagine all your photos organized and all in one place, permanently, safely and you have a system that lets you find any photo in literally seconds! This includes old slides, movies and memorabilia too. We will talk about scanners and digitizing old media, cloud storage accounts as well as software for creating digital books and projects and how to repair damaged photos.
