    WELCOME TO ECFE ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education)-for families with children from birth to kindergarten entrance-is a nationally-celebrated, school district-based parenting education program. Participating in ECFE helps you to form relationships with other families in the district and introduces you to our district's learning experts and resources. It also engages your children in fun, age-appropriate learn and play activities.
  • ABE Early Learning

    Adult Basic Education (ABE) Early Learning is available to students that are 6 weeks to 2 years of age at the start of enrollment. To register for this class, parents/guardians must be registered and scheduled to attend ABE classes at the Wayzata Early Learning School. The Early Learning School staff provide a safe environment and age-appropriate play experiences for children while their parent/guardian attend class. Online registration and consistent attendance are also required to attend ABE Early Learning. The class is scheduled for Monday - Thursday, 9:15 am - 12:15 pm.

  • Classes - Adult

    Unless otherwise noted, refunds will be given when a registration is withdrawn at least 3 business days (M-F) before the start date of the class. Call our office at 763-745-5200 or email CommunityEd@wayzataschools.org regarding withdrawals. Full refunds are given when Community Ed cancels a class. Join us and the Lake Minnetonka Historical Society this summer for Walk and Talk Wayzata! This guided tour will walk you through the colorful history that Wayzata enjoys, going way back to 1854!

  • School-day Preschool (4 Year Olds Only)

    Our much-loved preschool is part of our district's family of schools -- delivering excellence for each and every student. Preschool classes are inclusive and diverse. The classroom environment is warm and caring. Our teachers do an outstanding job of both preparing our preschoolers for kindergarten and helping them with that transition. Our creative, fun, age-appropriate curriculum supports social, emotional and academic growth and development. Join us for our school-day preschool program that is operated by Wayzata Public Schools' Community Ed department and coordinated by the Early Learning School. Available for 4-year-old children. Students must be 4 years old by September 1, 2024. Students attending preschool at the elementary schools must be fully potty trained before the start of the school year. This class is held at Early Learning School and Kimberly Lane Elementary School. We also have full-day and part-day preschool options for 4-year-olds. If you are interested in a full-day preschool class, please choose a class from the Wayzata Early Learning School full-day preschool options. If you are interested in a part-day preschool class, please choose a class from the Wayzata Early Learning School part-day preschool options.
