  • Jr. Engineering/STEM Club - Session 2

Jump into an exciting new school year with all-new lessons! Whether you're a new or returning student, the Engineering For Kids Jr. Engineering/STEM Club offers hands-on, engaging activities each week to spark curiosity and creativity. Students will explore engineering concepts while developing essential 21st-century skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork—building confidence to tackle challenges in and out of the classroom. Join us for one session or the whole series and start engineering your future today! Projects include: Environmental Engineering Wind Turbine - Students will explore renewable clean energy resources like wind energy, learn how energy can be transformed and design a wind turbine that uses energy transformation to lift a small object. Aerospace Engineering Striking Snowflakes - Students will learn what an aerospace engineer is, what a meteorologist is and land a snowflake on a target. Sports Engineering Hit the Slopes - Students will learn about sports engineers, friction and design a sled that will slide the furthest. Wind Engineering Windsock - Students will understand the movement of an object in relation to the wind direction and will construct a windsock to show the movement of air. Environmental Engineering Hurricane - Students will learn about how hurricanes form and spin and will use the Engineering Design Process to design and build a model of a hurricane. Mechanical Engineering Wheelbarrow - Students will learn how simple machines do work for people and will use the Engineering Design Process to design a machine that helps lift and carry a heavy load.
