Discover the art of leatherworking in this hands-on beginner’s course! Whether you're looking to craft your own wallets, bags, or accessories, Leathercraft 101 will teach you the essential skills to get started. Learn how to select the right leather, master cutting and stitching techniques, and finish your projects with a professional touch. Through guided instruction and practical exercises, you’ll create your own handcrafted leather items while gaining the confidence to continue your leathercraft journey. No prior experience needed—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

Supply fee of $30 payable to instructor at the first night of class by check or cash.

*The class dates have changed since the catalog was published. This class will now be held on Tuesday, September 16 and Monday, September 22.

Jim Kern

As an instructor, Jim Kern believes in making leathercraft accessible to everyone, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills. Through detailed instruction and a hands-on approach, he ensures that every student leaves with both a beautifully crafted piece and the confidence to continue their leathercraft journey.

When not in the workshop, Jim is often designing custom leather goods, exploring new techniques, and sharing the love of handmade craftsmanship with the community.
