Screen Time and Our Kids: Being “Smart” and Staying Sane In This Digital Age

Classes - Adult / Special Interest -
Adult Classes Winter/Spring 2025

What is the research telling us? What is happening in reality? What are parents to do? Not all screen time is created equal... why?

This presentation is intended for anyone interested in learning more about making informed decisions around screen exposure and young children. The information shared is based on the current research, the current state of screen time in our culture for kids, and some practical applications in navigating screen time decisions, access and use.

This evening will be presented by Sara Ridley, Speech Language Pathologist. Sara has worked in the Wayzata Early Intervention Program which serves eligible families with children between Birth-3 for the past 24 years. She also has been a swim coach at the middle and high school level in the district for the past 9 years. Prior to working in Wayzata, Sara worked for 10 years at St. David’s Child Development Center, Courage Center, private practice as well as a hospital setting. Her passion is trying to keep up with the ever-changing times and what the research is telling us on improving the well-being of children through support, information sharing and capacity building with the adults who care for, influence and interact with children on a regular basis.

This program is made possible through funding by the Partners for Healthy Kids grant.

This event will be held live in person and streamed simultaneously on Zoom. Participants can choose to attend in-person or online.
