Adult Basic Education (ABE) Early Learning is for children that have a parent/guardian attending ABE (Adult Basic Education) classes at the Wayzata Early Learning School. Parent/Guardian must be onsite for children to attend.
Wayzata Kids is a school-age childcare program.

Online Youth Classes
Week 1: Learn about the basic home electrical system, different gauges of wire, application and safety. Proper techniques discussed for stripping wire, attaching to outlets, switches and light fixtures, as well as test equipment. We will compare different light bulbs and proper selection of LED light bulbs. Bring straight and Phillips screwdrivers, long nose pliers and wire stripping pliers to class if you have them. Handouts included with the class. Week 2: Continue learning about home electrical repair by attending this “hands-on” class. Prerequisite: Basic Home Electrical Repair Class I. You will install single pole and 3-way switches, outlets and light fixtures to energize a light bulb and test the circuit. We will discuss proper installation of different light fixtures and ceiling fan and how to rewire a lamp and repair extension cords. Please bring straight and phillips screwdriver, wire stripper, and long-nose pliers to class if you have them. Handouts included with the class.
Tod has been teaching Community Education Basic Home Repair classes for over 10 years and enjoys being a mentor to the students, helping them improve their skills and gain confidence to make their own basic home repairs.
