Simplicity Day Walk

Classes - Adult / Wellness -
Adult Classes Summer 2026

National Simplicity Day is celebrated on July 12th to honor Henry David Thoreau. The day encourages everyone to make their lives simpler by, getting rid of extra stuff (material, digital, or mental), spending time in nature, and focusing on what truly matters. To fully embrace the philosophy of the day, join us for a calming Forest Bathing experience!

Discover Tranquility on a Forest Bathing Walk: Join us for a 2-hour immersive journey designed to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. Unplug from the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse yourself in the serene, stress-reducing beauty of the forest.

Reconnect with Nature: Slow down and awaken your senses as you explore the forest's calming embrace. Feel how nature’s fractals, sounds, and sensations reduce your stress and anxiety, and enhance your focus. Our guided walks offer unique invitations that encourage you to experience the forest in deeply personal and transformative ways.

Mindful Moments: Leave your phone behind and rekindle your connection with the natural world and yourself. Share your observations and insights with fellow participants, creating lasting memories and a sense of community.

David Michael Motzenbecker

David Motzenbecker didn’t set out to lead people into forests—he set out to design them as an award-winning landscape architect. But over time, the quiet call of the forest became harder to ignore. As the founder of Motz Studios, David now walks between worlds—where forest and human meet, where design becomes medicine. His therapeutic forest bathing walks are rooted in the Japanese tradition of Shinrin Yoku and blend Stoic philosophy, design insight, and nature’s healing power into meaningful, transformative experiences.

One of ANFT’s Top Four Certified Walk Leaders globally, David has led walks for more than 2,800 participants since 2018. His approach invites even the busiest minds to slow down and listen. The forest, in his view, is not an escape, it’s a way back to what matters. His experiences are calm, focused, and deeply effective—helping busy, high-performing individuals slow down, reconnect, and find clarity through nature.
