Keeping it Together – Fashion a Leather Catch-all Basket

Adult Classes Winter/Spring 2026

Construct a catch-all leather basket using a variety of materials. You will fold leather into a basket and add a decorative hardwood rim finished with a hand-sewn sea grass top. No prior experience needed—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

Youth ages 16 - 17 may register when accompanied by a registered adult.

Jim Kern

As an instructor, Jim Kern believes in making leathercraft accessible to everyone, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills. Through detailed instruction and a hands-on approach, he ensures that every student leaves with both a beautifully crafted piece and the confidence to continue their leathercraft journey.

When not in the workshop, Jim is often designing custom leather goods, exploring new techniques, and sharing the love of handmade craftsmanship with the community.
