Know Your Muslim Neighbor

Classes - Adult / Language, History and Culture -
Adult Classes Winter/Spring 2024

Who are Muslims and what are their core beliefs? Understand Islam's 6 Articles of Belief and 5 Pillars of Faith including Shahadah (declaration of faith), Salat (daily prayers), Zakat (Obligatory Poor due), Sawm (fasting) and Hajj (pilgrimage). How does this belief system guide the day-to-day lifestyle of a Muslim? What are the similarities and differences compared to American Culture? Hear how a lack of knowledge about these beliefs is sometimes misrepresented by western media as well as extremists in the Muslim world and western world. This class is designed to be educational and allow for open dialogue and Q & A. We will provide a light dinner for attendees. The food will include veggie and cheese pizza options and water bottle.
