    Request a HUG Visit! Wayzata Schools and HUG offer free home visits to all district families from birth to one year old.The visit includes a “Welcome New Baby” gift and current information on community resources, parenting and brain-based learning.The home visits are individually completed with a licensed Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) specialist.

  • 3D Engineering: Architectural & Structural Design

    Bring your imagination to life! Become a master bricklayer and use our special architectural LEGO® kits to build your creations. Be an architect as you learn the principles of construction. The main goal of the course is to introduce the concept of 3-dimensions and their role in design. Students will construct buildings, structures, towers, castles, and more within teams. Students will learn construction principles and use math skills to experiment with scale and size, staggering vs. stacking bricks, and more. We'll build houses with removable roofs, castles with turrets, and towers of strength! It might just be impossible to exhaust the creative potential of LEGO® bricks. With an active imagination as your guide, there are endless possibilities. Students will be working in pairs
  • 3D Printing: Build Your Own Robot

    3D printing is here to stay! This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design, and see their creations come to life. Students will be learning the ropes of 3D modeling and printing using Tinkercad to design parts for their robots. By the end of the week they will have 2 Dc-powered robots - a sketchbot and a drive bot. Students must be comfortable with using a laptop and mouse to design their creations.
  • 3D Printing: Dungeons & Dragons

    Learn the ins and outs of 3D Design and 3D printing with TinkerCAD! TinkerCAD will teach you 3D design and 3D printing! While learning 3D design skills, students will make custom D&D D4s (4-sided) and D10s (10-sided). They'll also do fun D&D-inspired challenges in TinkerCAD's SimLab. The custom dies will be printed and sent home. Dies will be printed and sent home at the end of class. Printing and material fees are included.
  • 3D Printing: Gizmos & Gadgets

    3D printing is here to stay and learning how it works is as basic as learning how to use a computer! This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design, and see there creations come to life. Students will learn the ropes of 3D modeling and printing. Students will use the Engineering Design Process to create their own designs from scratch and choose 2 to print in class to take home. To allow everyone to print their creations, items may be scaled down to allow printing during class times. Students must be comfortable using a laptop and mouse to design their creations.
  • 3D Printing: Harry Potter

    Learn 3D design and modeling skills using Tinkercad while creating a wand, then create your own magical pendant. Create fun designs to complete different magical CAD challenges. This course will introduce students to using CAD modeling & design software. They'll also do fun Hogwarts-inspired challenges in TinkerCAD's SimLab. Student-designed pendants will be printed and sent home at the end of class. Printing and material fees are included.

    3D printing introduces students to a new world of possibilities! This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design, and see their creations come to life. Students will learn the ropes of 3D modeling and printing using Tinkercad to design their jewelry or wearables creation from scratch, 2 of which they get to print and take home. To allow everyone to print their creations, items may have to be scaled down to allow printing during class times.     Bring your creations to life in this 3D printing class. The ancient craft of jewelry making is brought to the modern world using TinkerCad and 3D printers. Students will learn to build 2D and 3D models on the computer using CAD software. They will design and print a pair of earrings, a ring, or a pendant in this class. Additionally, they will get to bring home two of their 3D creations. Printing and material fees are included.

This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design, and see their creations come to life. Students will be learning the ropes of 3D modeling and printing. They will use Tinkercad to design basic Minecraft creations from scratch using Engineering Design Process, and choose 2 to print in class to take home.
