Acing College Application Essays: Workshop for Rising Seniors and Their Parents

The essays your senior will write in the college application process are their BEST way to stand out from the crowd in a highly competitive environment. But, the subjective nature of essay writing causes stress for parents and students alike. In this session, communications expert Stef Tschida will share her company’s proprietary method for tackling college essays based on the same communications approaches her team uses with corporate executives to tell their story and get their message across. During this 2-hour, interactive workshop, your senior and you will learn: How to tell the story of what makes them unique and what they’ll contribute to their future campus – and how to share that story as part of their essay to elevate their message in a way that few other students will. How to write a memorable essay that balances storytelling with facts that demonstrate your student’s accomplishments. What college admissions officers are interested in reading, and the mistakes many students make in their applications. You and your senior will leave with a head start on their college essays and clear actions they can take to be ready when the Common App opens on August 1 – just two weeks after this session takes place! Registration is by family. Select one family member during the check-out process.
