    Forest Bathing - Shinrin Yoku

    Experience an ancient wellness practice being rediscovered anew in the 21st century. Join us on an immersive, meditative, and awe-inspiring Japanese forest bathing experience (Shinrin Yoku). Feel how nature’s fractals, sounds, and sensations reduce your stress and anxiety, and enhance your focus. Give yourself permission to slow down and connect your senses to the healing beauty of our metro area’s green forested spaces. All participants must sign a waiver of liability prior to the walk. Guests should wear boots/shoes, clothing/gear appropriate for weather. Walk will be held in the rain and snow, but not thunderstorms or negative temperatures. Please wear/bring mosquito/tick repellent and sunscreen if desired. Please bring water if you would like to have some available throughout the walk. DAY OF WALK: Please arrive at walk location 15 minutes prior to walk to allow for check in and walk overview. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated due to the immersive nature of the program.   • Fresh Tuscan Gnocchi with Chicken and Fresh Bread!

    Gnocchi: Bite-sized tender soft pillows of pasta-ish goodness. Very versatile with the ability to take on the flavor of added goodness creating mouthwatering meals that will become favorites in your family’s dinner rotation. This may just sound too good to be true. Not only is this all true, but gnocchi are even simpler to make than other fresh pasta options! During this fun filled class, participants will learn how to create these little morsels of goodness, and then turn them into a scrumptious meal the instructor has created called Creamy Tuscan Gnocchi with Chicken, and make a wonderful loaf of fresh bread as well! Have some fun participating in this virtual Cook-Along class as we dive into the world of gnocchi! Follow along step-by-step, with our wonderful instructor as she guides you through the simple pleasure of creating these delicious tender bites of goodness. Then follow along and create a wonderful meal with them that will have your family asking for more! Make it a date night or family night as you create lasting memories in your kitchen! Have your questions answered by the instructor, interact with other participants as you cook along, and increase your confidence in the kitchen with each skill that is learned, and each little bit of advice and instruction that is shared. While cooking-along is loads of fun, it is optional. Participants will receive a list of ingredients in advance of the class with enough time for shopping and prep. A professionally made PDF of the Instructors Personal Recipes from this class will also be received. This class will take place on Zoom; free on-line software. Participants will receive instructions on how to access the class prior to it starting. As an added bonus, the instructor has created a private group and a public group on Facebook for participants of her cooking classes. Everyone will receive an invite to the groups although joining is optional. Come join the fun! Equipment: Although a gnocchi board can be used, it is not necessary. NO fancy equipment is required. Note: One registration fee for this on-line virtual interactive class can include immediate family members living full-time in the same home ONLY. If children are participating, adult supervision is required.
  • Glass Mosaic Bird Bath

    This bird bath is made with a terra-cotta drip tray. It is decorated with pieces of stained glass then grouted at the next class. It is beautiful when completed. It can be placed on the ground, on a wrought iron stand or other fun options. If weather permits, we will grout outside. A $15 supply fee is payable to the instructor at class. Learning tips on creating a good relationship from the start as well as learning to say no to every request to babysit will help grandparents and other caregivers enhance their relationship with their children and create lasting memories with their grandchildren.     The Heartsaver® CPR AED and First Aid Certification course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). Class content will include first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, preventing illness and injury, and opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies. This course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR, AED, and First Aid use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.     This non-certification course will cover infant and pediatric CPR for parents and caregivers, following the Heartsaver® curriculum from the American Heart Association. You will learn how to respond to an infant or child who is choking, how to perform CPR, and steps to follow during an emergency.     On and off the water, Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) training that will have you comfortably paddling in no time! Learn the basics of SUP, including equipment overview, paddle, launch techniques, and general safety instruction. 45 minutes of instruction followed by 45 minute rental. Due to safety concerns, classes and rentals at Wayzata Beach are for individuals age 12+ only (age 12-15 must be accompanied on the water by a registered parent or adult guardian). Sorry, no riders. Renters under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature on the required waiver form.

Professional photographer, David Sherman, will demystify the rules of exposure (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) and how to take control of your camera – be it a DSLR, point and shoot or cellphone. Learn how to stop taking and begin making pictures.
