MN STEM Camp II - Technology, Flight and Air, Chemistry

The MN STEM Summer Camp II is an adventure exploring the areas of Flight and Air,

Chemistry, and Technology. In this camp, students obtain hands-on learning experience on distinct topics in Science, Math, Technology, and Engineering in an interactive environment. They will be placed in level appropriate groups to enhance their experience. Using design and pattern association techniques, puzzles and games, students explore the application of math concepts. Students will learn Chemistry through various activities in the areas of Polymers, Osmosis, Chemical Reactions in Crystals formation and Volcano Eruption, understanding the Weather Patterns through sizing up the Clouds. Through experiments, students will explore Aerodynamics, Boyle’s Law of Apparatus, and Hydrodynamics. They will explore Satellite travels to another planet and the engineering behind the air-powered vehicles. Bot building, coding for Robots, working on MIT Makey Makey, and other interesting technology projects will be few of the other activities that students will engage in. Our young scientists are encouraged to research/observe, hypothesis, and conduct scientific experiments, and draw conclusions. Students will also improve their knowledge through labs, quizzes, and interactive Science-bowl formatted friendly competitions.
